Each film in the series challenges viewers to think about how they can make a difference in their lives, communities and country. Characters grapple with issues like living out a bold faith, religious liberty and freedom and being a light to others in dark times.

When Josh refuses because of his own beliefs, the professor challenges him to defend his position, which leads to a series of confrontational presentations between himself and the professor, with the class as jury.
